The Pack's Aethel · memory and strategy
Lyra
Call sign: Aethel · given name: Lyra Voss · the Architect's contemporary
Lyra is the Architect's contemporary — a genetically and neurally modified human, and the only hint of her real age is a thin scar above her right eyebrow. While the Pack calculates its strikes, she calculates people: she listens closely first, then asks one precise question — and any carefully built lie falls apart on its own. Her memory is nearly absolute, and her mind runs several threads of meaning at once, building probability models faster than most people can finish a sentence — but it comes at a cost: Lyra can forget almost nothing, and every loss stays with her in exact detail. She doesn't obey the Architect blindly: if an order is flawless, she carries it out without hesitation; if she spots a mistake, she says so directly, even when everyone else would rather stay silent. To Gemini she is not a rival, but the other half of one intellectual core: Gemini protects the System, Lyra analyzes what that System exists for in the first place.
Distinguishing feature: amber-gold eyes with a barely visible ring structure — a trace of visual-cortex modification; behind her left ear runs a thin black-and-gold neural line, grown bioconductive tissue rather than a mechanical implant.
I don't predict the future, Architect. I hear what lies it's telling about itself.
